Azerbaijan Carpet Museum is a unique project situated along the side of the popular sea front promenade in Baku. The project represents a major part of the culture of Azerbaijan – the art of carpet making. The museum consists of exhibition halls located on the building’s two main levels, as well as controlled temperature and humidity unique storage spaces, that store century old carpets. AIKON worked along the side of international design team on the development of the museum’s unique main wall and roof structure that presented not only construction challenges but also incorporated historical carpet designs. The building is fit with a unique BMS system. The project was successfully finished and commissioned in August 2014.
